BIO

Peter Bain has been painting with oil for almost 10 years.  For most of those years he studied with Ipswich artist Paul George.  The artists of Cape Ann continue to have a large influence on his work.
Peter has developed into a notably versatile painter; capturing landscapes, figures, still lives, interiors and animals with equal aplomb. Peter is regularly accepted into juried shows and is finding more and more opportunities to exhibit his work.  He also teaches at LexArt in Lexington MA.

Since I was a boy, I pursued drawing and painting in my free time.  In 2011, I was blessed with the opportunity to paint full time and jumped with both feet.  After many years of study, classes, and workshops my skills have matured to the point where I have collectors across the country.

The artists of Cape Ann (Aldro Hibbard, Frederick Mulhaupt, Anthony Thieme, etal.) are some of my biggest influences.  I enjoy painting a wide variety of subjects including landscapes, animals, and figures.  Usually, Iā€™m drawn to a special aspect of light and how it plays off the subject of the painting.

My paintings are completed in my studio from photos, and en plein air. I enjoy working on commissioned paintings too.
