FOR ARTISTS

We are always open to discovering new artists and new artwork for our gallery shows.
While some of our shows are by invitation only, we will often have an exhibition with an ‘open’ call for entries. These will be sent to our Artist Mailing List and details are also posted below.
(If you’d like to be added to our Artists Mailing List, sign up here!)

'INSPIRED'

April 10 - May 10, 2026
 Opening Reception
Saturday, April 11 @5pm

You can submit work in any media, size, format or style. Remember that we anticipate selling large as well as small pieces

What are we thinking?

There may be a variety of different sources of inspiration for making artwork. We'd like our visitors to know what inspires yours.

IT MIGHT BE...

An Internal Source

  • Emotions & Psyche: Art often stems from feelings, passions, dreams, memories, or a journey into the human soul.

  • Personal Experiences: Life events, significant moments, triumphs, losses, and daily observations might fuel creation.

  • Self-Expression: A fundamental drive to express internal thoughts, beliefs, and a desire to communicate something about yourself.

An External Source

  • Nature: The shapes, colors, textures, and elements of the natural world provide endless visual ideas.

  • Other Art: Viewing works by other artists, visiting museums, or exploring different mediums sparks new concepts.

  • People & Society: Observing people, cultures, social issues etc

  • Media & Culture: Movies, music, books, magazines, and even vintage imagery might be a catalyst.

Methods or Activities

  • Learning & Exploration: Studying new techniques, learning about science, philosophy, or history for example. Or taking risks might help push your creative boundaries.

  • Sensory Engagement: Engaging all senses—sight, sound, touch—to find inspiration in textures, sounds, and beauty.

  • Daily Practice: Journaling, sketching, and producing more art create a cycle of inspiration and idea generation.

Or maybe your work is inspired by something else?

Please include at least a hint of this information with your submission; you can fine-tune it if work is selected.
We'd like there to be a good mix of different 'inspiration' sources in this show.

As always we seek a dynamic selection of varied work. Our taste is eclectic and we want to offer something appealing for all our diverse art-buyers.

TO DO:

SEND IMAGE FILES FOR CONSIDERATION
We encourage you to send us (to this email address: info@gallerytwist.com) your digital images for consideration. (ideally images of 5 pieces or more, although less is fine... and as many as you like.)

Send them as soon as you like, and by Tuesday, February 24th latest.
(You'll be informed shortly thereafter if your work is selected. (By Friday, February 27th, latest.)

Please also label files to include pertinent info:
name_title_media_size_price.jpg
e.g. ROSS_Inspiration_Monotype_15x15_$500.jpg

File size is flexible; around 1MB is good as a rough guide.

If you haven't shown work here before, please give us an idea of how you frame or otherwise present your work for gallery display.

MORE INFO
The gallery's commission on any work sold is 35%.

There is no fee for submitting work for consideration.

N.B. We usually ask artists to bring a little more work than we know we actually have space for. This gives us flexibility while hanging the show, and allows us to have extra work on hand to ‘fill gaps’ when visitors purchase pieces they want to take right away (for gifts etc).

All work selected will be included in the online version of the show.

  • Once work is selected, we'd be grateful if you don't make it available in any other venue, either in person or online.

  • Also, please be consistent in your pricing (so that the pricing you give us is the same as the pricing offered in all other venues, including your studio and/or online) Thanks.

DROP OFF
If work is selected we will send you an inventory form - please bring it along signed and filled out on:
Thursday March 19, 10am - 4pm
or
Friday March 20, 10am - 4pm
or at another time on those days by appointment.

(You can also deliver work any time before these dates, just let us know when is best for you.)

PICK UP
Any unsold work can be collected during the week following the show. (May 14/15). ANYTHING GOES !
We seek a diverse range of work - varying in size. (Large is fine, it's not just a small works show; in fact we often sell more large pieces in this holiday show than in others). We also seek work in a variety of media, subject matter, and price.
We'll select abstract, realistic, and everything in between.

Our taste is eclectic and we want to offer something for all our diverse art-buyers, and their potential gift-recipients!

N.B. THIS SHOW WILL FEATURE NEW ENGLAND ARTISTS ONLY

We look forward to your submissions.
